(no subject)

Just had my first game of e-scrabble and was soundly defeated by the intellectual might of slemslempike .  But so much more fun than listening to the BBC wittering on about Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles - as if anyone gives a toss - I am abandoning the media for the rest of the day. Although I might just peek at the Guardian to defer the evil moment when I sit down and do some work.

Little else to report here. My copy of Permanent Rose is still conspicuous by its absence even though other people I know have received and READ their copies.  I am hoping it comes soon because I want to send it to the earwig to cheer her up.  She was supposed to be in Spain at the moment but just wasn't well enough to go. Instead she is going to stay with her lovely aunt and uncle in London. They are going to eat tapas and speak Spanish and apply a bit of fake tan and pretend to be in Spain. 

Her sister, the valley girl, is coming here for a week with 3 of her chums which should be fun. She is supposed to be getting fit for a trip to Nicaragua in the summer so I plan to drive them out for a spot of fell-running each morning before breakfast. There is snow on the hills today so it should be v bracing and character building.
